My art blog has a new URL · Mi blog artístico tiene una URL nueva

As you know, a few months ago I changed my old nickname, 'Diabolikal Lily' by the current one, 'Lily Skadi'. This has made me need to update it everywhere, including my art blog. Fortunately I have been able to change the URL address of the blog without problem, but if someone searchs it from my old nick, that is, through this address:

http://diabolikal-lily.blogspot.com

You will find that it says it doesn't exist. So please, from now on visit my artistic blog through this new address:

http://lilyskadi.blogspot.com 

I've made a update. It has a new header and have completely changed the blog template. Now it's more like my other two blogs, Genwaku and Valkyrie Memories, the one you're seeing right now. Each one has its special design, but I wanted them to have things in common. Apart from that, nothing has changed and entries have not undergone any changes.

If you like my illustration, don't hesitate to follow me on my art blog too.

Como sabéis, hace unos meses cambié mi antiguo nick, 'Diabolikal Lily', por el actual, 'Lily Skadi'. Esto ha hecho que tenga que actualizarlo en todas partes, incluyendo mi blog artístico. Afortunadamente he podido cambiar la dirección URL del blog sin problema, pero si alguien lo busca por mi antiguo nick, es decir, a través de esta dirección:

Le he hecho un lavado de cara integral. Tiene cabecera nueva y he cambiado completamente la plantilla del blog. Ahora es más parecido a mis otros dos blogs, Genwaku y Valkyrie Memories, éste mismo que estáis viendo. Cada uno tiene su diseño especial, pero quería que tuviesen cosas en común. Por lo demás, todo sigue igual y las entradas no han sufrido ningún cambio.

Testing black & white photography · Probando fotografía en blanco y negro

Last week we went to visit my grandfather and went to a park to burn us alive to get some fresh air. As every time I go out I try to bring my camera because I never know when I can find some inspiration, I did well to bring it that day. While we were sitting on a bench, I began to think about taking photos of the roots of a tree we had in front  and then I had the idea to try taking black & white photos, as I had never tried.

That's how the photos I took turned out.

La semana pasada fuimos a visitar a mi abuelo y bajamos al parque para que nos achicharrásemos vivos le diese un poco el aire. Como siempre que salgo intento llevar mi cámara porque nunca sé cuando puedo encontrar algo de inspiración, ese día hice bien en llevarla. Estando sentados en el banco, empecé a darle vueltas en mi cabeza sobre hacer fotos de las raíces de un árbol que teníamos en frente y de ahí, se me ocurrió el probar el hacer las fotos en blanco y negro, ya que nunca lo había probado.

Así es cómo quedaron las fotos que hice.

Hoy vengo con los covers de una película que ya es un clásico, Flashdance. El tema del que os voy a mostrar varios covers es "Maniac", de Michael Sembello. Recordemos cómo suena éste clásico de la música pop de los 80.

After many years, my hand phone began to fail last year. This is a Nokia 6555 which first belonged to my father and he gave it to me when he got a new hand phone. It has been with me many years, so many that I don't remember, but the poor began to reach the end of its useful life and therefore, time to move to the generation of smartphones with its thousands of applications and Internet access.

Después de muchos años, mi móvil empezó a fallar el año pasado. Se trata de un Nokia 6555 que primero perteneció a mi padre y que me lo dio al conseguir un móvil nuevo. Ha estado conmigo bastantes años, tantos que ni me acuerdo, pero el pobre ya empezó a llegar al final de su vida útil y por lo tanto, hora de pasar a la generación de los smartphones con su miles de aplicaciones y acceso a Internet.

Metal covers: Mecano - 'Hijo de la luna'

Today is Monday and is the turn for another round of Metal covers. On this occasion it's the turn for the Spanish Pop band Mecano.

As I know I have readers from different parts of the world globe, I will tell you that Mecano was a legendary band from the 80's in Spain and South America, they were also successful in other countries and broke up in the early 90's. Currently the group is dissolved and its components have taken different career paths. Ana Torroja, the lead singer, is the only one who has pursued a successful solo career. The song that I will introduce is "Hijo de la luna" (Son of the Moon), one of the most beautiful songs they did and I discovered more Metal covers than expected.

Hoy es lunes y toca otra tanda de covers metaleros. En esta ocasión le ha tocado el turno al grupo Pop español Mecano.

Como sé que tengo lectores de distintos puntos del globo terráqueo, os contaré que Mecano fue un grupo de los años 80 mítico en España y América del sur que también tuvieron éxito en otros países y que se disolvió a principios de los 90. Actualmente el grupo está disuelto y sus componentes han tomado distintos rumbos profesionales, siendo Ana Torroja, la vocalista, la única que ha seguido una exitosa carrera musical en solitario. La canción que os voy a presentar es "Hijo de la luna", una de las canciones más bonitas que hicieron y de la que he descubierto más covers metaleros de lo que esperaba

Dolls & Party 2015 Barcelona - Review · Reseña (2)

In my previous post I told you how it had been my experience at the Dolls & Party event this year, but I didn't finished telling everything about it and show all the pictures I took, which were many. So I will continue with the review.

The hall was large and you could walk serenely and look at everything with ease, at least in the afternoon, when I went. There was also air conditioning and was relatively good to stay there. Also I have to say that as I was only in the afternoon, I couldn't see how it was in the morning and for what my friends from Sweet~Angel~Kawaii told me, it was quite busy and there was some other agglomeration.

I have to remember that the lighting was not good to take pictures, so many photos were blurry and/or dark .

En mi anterior entrada os conté cómo había sido mi experiencia en la Dolls & Party de este año, pero no terminé de contarlo todo ni enseñar todas las fotos que hice, que fueron muchas. Así que continuaré con la reseña.

La sala era grande y se podía andar tranquilamente y mirarlo todo con facilidad, al menos por la tarde, que es cuando fui. También había aire acondicionado y se estaba relativamente bien. También tengo que decir que como solo estuve por la tarde, no pude comprobar cómo fue por la mañana y por lo que me contaron mis amigas de Sweet~Angel~Kawaii, estuvo bastante concurrido y hubo alguna que otra aglomeración.

Tengo que recordar que la iluminación no era buena para hacer fotos, así que muchas fotos salieron borrosas y/u oscuras.

Dolls & Party 2015 Barcelona - Review · Reseña (1)

On July 4 was held the 2nd edition of the event Dolls & Party, devoted to BJD, Pullip and Blythe dolls. As I said in a previous post, I bought my ticket to attend. It's amazing how quickly time passes because have already passed several days of it.

I went to the event with my mother, you know that she also likes and collects dolls and although we didn't go for the whole day, we had a blast. I'll tell you how was the day in several entries because this is going to be very long.

We left home after lunch at past 13:30h to take the bus that leads to Plaça Espanya. There we had to take the Line 1 of the subway to "Glories" station and then take the tram to the "Maresme" station. Fortunately my mother remembered the tram because the journey is a few minutes only because the other option was to take the Line 4 of the subway, which are more stops and much slower. So at about 15:10h we were in the Ballroom of the Hotel Hilton Diagonal Mar.

El pasado 4 de Julio se celebró la 2ª edición del evento Dolls & Party, dedicado a muñecas BJD, Pullip y Blythe. Como ya anuncié en una entrada anterior, había comprado mi entrada para asistir. Es increíble lo rápido que pasa el tiempo porque ya han pasado varios días de ello.

Al evento fui con mi madre, que ya sabéis que también le gustan y colecciona muñecas y aunque no fuimos para todo el día, nos lo pasamos genial. Os voy a contar cómo fue el día en varias entradas porque esto va a ser muy largo.

Salimos de casa después de comer, a las 13:30h pasadas para coger el bus que lleva a Plaça Espanya de Barcelona. Allí tuvimos que coger el metro de la L1 hasta "Glories" para luego coger el tranvía hasta la estación "Maresme". Suerte que mi madre se acordó del tranvía porque el trayecto es de pocos minutos ya que la otra opción era la de coger la L4 del metro, que son más paradas y mucho más lento. Así que a eso de las 15:10h ya estábamos en la sala Ballroom del hotel Hilton Diagonal Mar.

Metal covers: Demi Lovato - 'Let It Go' ("Frozen")

I have decided that every Monday I will publish an entry for the section "Metal Covers", so today I come with more Metal covers.

I felt like to investigate if there were Metal covers of the famous song "Let it Go", from the Disney movie Frozen. Yes, there are cover, although I could only find two.

First, let's remember the song in its original version, played by Demi Lovato.

He decidido que los lunes publicaré una entrada para la sección "Metal Covers", así que hoy vengo con más covers Metaleros.

Me dio por investigar si existían covers Metaleros de la famosa canción "Let it Go", de la película de Disney Frozen. Sí que hay covers, aunque solo pude encontrar dos.

Primero, recordemos la canción en su versión original, interpretada por Demi Lovato.
